Notes from Tuesday's rehearsal

We have LOTS of notes from today's rehearsal - Some are from me and some are Mrs. Dreyer so you might see duplication. If that is the case...it really needs to be corrected. :)

Here are the notes!

  • Sally - pause betwwe 1st time you say inferiority & lack of confidence

  • Lucy- slow down

  • SLOW DOWN! Everyone...

  • Schroeder lights need to adjust in opening

  • Lucy play to the audience more

  • ENERGY!

  • You're a Good Man # - stage presence much improved, sing louder, make sure we hear Brown and not Brow

  • quieter feet

  • the 2 lines that you make in Charlie Brown are too close to center. Liz your line was way too close to center

  • quiet back stage!

  • Peanut Butter monologue - more volume. Dropped line after PB sticks to the roof of your mouth - "I guess they're right" - say that muffled like you mouth is stuck)

  • Foster - slow down and don't cover your mouth

  • Schroeder song - Lucy should be fawning ober Schroeder...this is a love song to him

  • Lucy LOVE Schroeder! add gestures and really enunciate and slow down Aunt Marion line.

  • When A/C kicks on...everyone must speak louder

  • No lights at L during Linus and Sally spaghetti

  • keep volume up!

  • Charlie Brown double check lines

  • lights need to change a little quicker

  • Blanket - much better movement at the beginning, be sure to look at your blanket - you love it! Timing "don't ever let me do that again" after the glissando on the piano

  • girls quieter on the giggly ad lib UR

  • Check last notes on the blanket song

  • K.Ewing please bring shoes tomorrow...you need to dance the blanket part - no more marking it! I want to see it. :)

  • lights quicker

  • Queendom - more stage business for Lucy while Linus is saying his lines. "These 5 fingers" slow down and make sure the audience sees 5 fingers

  • Foster - great job on knowing lines now slow them down

  • Liz face audience even though you are talking to Linus who is behind you.

  • Love the jumprope styles - good job!

  • Coathanger monologue - only use lights 4 and 5

  • Melody - emphasis on "dropped" (that word got lost)

  • #11 check cue

  • JAZZ hands. All choreography needs to be sharp (more precision - Oohs! - Beethoven Day)

  • good stage business with your pencil Kelsey

  • Sarah Beth and Melody - need more stage business

  • Lucy - you must get your cues, regardless of whether other are on cue

  • Can't hear Lucy listing vegetables - Foster, check vegetables. :)

  • CB - check words on Book Report

  • Linus - louder on "flopsy, mopsy..."

  • We will work these end vocals as well at the beginning rehearsal after school tomorrow - anyone singing the top note at the end?

  • Ballgame - Kelsey - "bench" manager needs emphasis - sounds like a cuss word

  • CD - enunciate "cry"

  • love the slow motion!

Wow! That is a lot to notes and ALL are important! I wanted you guys to know that Mrs. Dreyer said that the improvement made since spring break is remarkable! I agree. We still have LOTS of work but you guys have done great! And I appreciate your hard work. Rehearsals the rest of the week are as follows:

  • Wed (tomorrow) after school until 4:30

  • Thursday - lunch rehearsal

  • Friday - we will start at 12:05 and run until 2:15 (I need to know if you have a conflict) - We will do a FULL run thru!

Please respond with a comment by tomorrow at 8:30. Include in your comment on note that was for you or something that you think you need to improve in the next rehearsal. I do expect the notes made on the blog to be read and then the adjustments to be made in the rehearsal tomorrow.

  1. Hi :) I know I wasn't there today for rehersal, but I will be there tomorrow. I know I need to act more five-year-old-ish and slow down on my lines.

  2. Heya. So here's the dealio: I also have a band rehearsal after school tomorrow. This is our only rehearsal between now and the show, so I might be running back and forth from rehearsal to rehearsal, if you won't disembowel me, Ingle.

Also, I need to have some better moves during Beethoven Day. I don't feel limber or crisp when I'm performing. I also need to play to the audience more.
