Class Notes from Tuesday, Mar. 29

Today we started at Snoopy and worked through to the end of Act 1...nice job! Now for general and then specific notes. General:

  • Everyone needs to SLOW down and really enuciate lines. Remember we perform for an audience and they need to be able to understand you.

  • Energy...on every # and for every scene. If you are excited the audience will be excited as well.

  • Character - think about your character. What stage business could we add to make it more believable? Sally...let's go ahead and add a jumprope starting tomorrow. There is one in the props closet that I bought for you.

  • Start putting down your scripts! Thursday...no scripts will be allowed on stage. :) You can do it!

  • Check the order of the show. We will start at the beginning tomorrow.

  • Listen to your CD...ALL OF IT!

Now for specifics (just like yesterday...these are in order of what I saw in class)

  • Snoopy...let's look at lowering the beginning. Practice that tonight with the CD and we will try it tomorrow

  • EE - check entrance

  • la!la! birds - louder

  • Lyndi - energy. Stand on the doghouse

  • EE - lighter on your feet as woodstock

  • BO - stand tall at the end. Your height looks nice and adds to the overall look

  • CB - don't wander on "...fly to the moon"

  • Lucy- SLOW down on "play a little trick"

  • Little Red Haired Girl - might add Kaylee Ewing as little red haired girl

  • Linus - walk to Snoopy on your stick line

  • Blanket - this will be choreographed tomorrow!

  • Volume on girls LOUDER...scoot a little down stage

  • Lucy X to Linus on "your a hopeless case Linus"

  • Linus - keep your blanket with you! ALWAYS

  • Queendom - Lucy you are trapped in your dream of being queen - smile, look off

  • Lucy - No Wows! :)

  • The TV needs to be in the same place Linus and Lucy

  • Classroom set up - has to be quick and quiet - not having scripts will help!

  • Kite - sounds great...now we need to add some pantomime of the kite flying

  • check timing on Dr. is In - you guys know this but you have to count!

  • Foster - louder

  • Lucy and CB on Dr. is In...move around a little - with purpose

  • Mel shift to true C for your line and don't leave until you finish all of your line.

  • Lights need to be a little quicker

  • EE - don't be right behind Schroeder

  • Beethoven notes on the round! LISTEN TO THE CD.

  • Thomas, less matrixy on the Oooo.

  • All lines...SLOW DOWN!

  • Book Report...count! Listen to this about 5 times at least tonight!

Great rehearsal. Remember tomorrow is lunch rehearsal and then an after school rehearsal. Please bring something that doesn't need a microwave. We want to really capitalize on the additional rehearsal time.

Bio due before you leave for Spring Break.

If you have read this in it's entirety - sign and date a piece of paper. It is important to read all the notes!

See you tomorrow!
